PharmaLAY RIGID
Sustainable PVC-free film, developed by ITP to replace PVC in the outer layer of pharmaceutical blister packs and in suppository packaging.
Sustainable “PVC‑free” Film for Pharma Applications
PharmaLAY Rigid is a sustainable PVC‑free rigid film developed by ITP to replace PVC in the outer layer of pharmaceutical blisters and in suppository packaging.
It is a multilayer coextruded film, mainly based on polyolefins, engineered to deliver high rigidity and reliable mechanical performance, while offering a more environmentally friendly profile compared to traditional PVC solutions.
Although PVC provides excellent mechanical and aesthetic properties, it is increasingly considered less sustainable. ITP addresses this market need with a PVC‑free alternative, designed to meet the requirements of the most demanding pharmaceutical applications.
Key Technical Features
- Structure: multilayer coextruded film
- Polymer base: mainly polyolefins
- Rigidity: high, achieved through increased thickness
- Mechanical performance: suitable for PVC replacement
