Meat & Poultry
Films for Packaging Meat and Poultry Products
The packaging of fresh meat, poultry and prepared food products requires materials capable of meeting different application needs, from thermoforming and skin packaging to top lidding and resealable packs. Thanks to a complete range of flexible films, including both structures intended for lamination and solutions that directly constitute the primary packaging, we support manufacturers with high-performance technologies in terms of barrier properties, machinability and shelf life.
At the same time, we continue to invest in the development of mono-material films and PPWR-ready solutions, supporting the industry’s transition towards increasingly sustainable packaging models.
Anti-fog film prevents condensation from forming on the inner surface of the package, ensuring maximum product visibility and a consistently fresh appearance.
In MAP poultry packaging, where products are constantly stored under refrigeration, high humidity can easily generate condensation. The anti-fog function is therefore essential to prevent film fogging, maintain shelf appeal and ensure clear visibility of the contents. ITP offers films that combine anti-fog properties and barrier performance for optimal sealing of MAP trays.
Skin packaging technology perfectly conforms to the product without deforming it and creates a “second-skin” effect that reduces liquid release and provides a more uniform barrier than traditional vacuum packaging.
The result is improved shelf presentation and longer shelf life. ITP offers vacuum skin packaging solutions developed to enhance meat cuts and keep them protected for longer.
Triflex T-Lid
Innovative bi-oriented coextruded film for top lidding applications, requiring no lamination, characterized by high stiffness and toughness, as well as excellent transparency and gloss.
Enhanced with an anti-fog additive, it seals plastic trays, preventing food deterioration thanks to its high oxygen barrier properties.
Its appearance improves product presentation on the shelf. Thanks to its ultra-thin gauge and lightweight structure, it reduces carbon footprint and logistics costs.
ClearSkinPack®
Skinpack film for vacuum packaging all types of fresh food products. This coextruded film, featuring an easy-open system, is virtually “invisible” on retail shelves.
Thanks to its high barrier properties, this sustainable film extends the shelf life of food products, helping to reduce food waste.
Ideal for fresh meat, poultry, prepared foods and processed meat products. Its characteristics make it suitable for the preservation, display and distribution requirements of meat products.
Available in microwaveable and printable versions, including applications on paperboard.
Triflex T-ShrinkPack
High-barrier, shrinkable and thermoformable coextruded multilayer film.
Designed to replace rigid trays.
It offers excellent mechanical properties, high shrink performance and outstanding optical properties.
Ideal for meat and poultry, as well as fish and cheese.
Its thin and lightweight structure reduces packaging weight, optimizing logistics costs and lowering the carbon footprint.
PaperG
Film recommended for a wide range of food products, including fresh and processed meats, prepared foods, cheese, frozen foods, chilled products, salads and fruit.
The paperboard tray replaces conventional plastic trays, using 80% less plastic.
Can be processed on zero-waste machines during the thermo-lamination process onto the underlying paperboard.
Deepflex
Thanks to its flexible mono-material structure, this film makes it possible to produce packaging made entirely from PE.
Ideal for meat, fish and cured meats.
The elimination of incompatible polymers and the presence of less than 5% EVOH make the product fully recyclable, with LDPE 4 material identification coding.
Bariflex®
Lamination films with a high oxygen barrier that can be tailored to optimize the shelf life of food packaging.
Also available in anti-UV and anti-fog versions.
These films are designed for a wide range of applications, including VFFS and HFFS packaging lines, as well as top lidding film applications.
Sealflex®
It seals even in the presence of contaminants (oil, dust, etc.). Wide sealing window to adapt to different packaging machines, including high-speed production lines.
Hot-tack properties for vertical packaging machines. Excellent transparency.
Wide selection of high-stiffness films and low seal initiation temperature (SIT) films. Broad range of additives available (anti-fog, anti-UV, antistatic, etc.).
Peelflex®
Easy-open version of ITP’s Bariflex film, compatible with a variety of substrates, including PE, PVC, APET, PS and PP.
Designed not to compromise the integrity of the package.
Films for lamination onto bi-oriented substrates.
Re-sealflex®
Peelable and resealable films suitable for sealing onto PE and PET.
They allow users to conveniently reseal the package up to 10 times after first opening, preventing waste of the remaining food and eliminating the need for additional packaging materials to protect it.
CONAI Award for Packaging Ecodesign in the Circular Economy
In 2024, ITP received recognition in the CONAI Ecopack Call for Entries thanks to its Triflex T-Lid film, which was acknowledged for innovation in packaging ecodesign.
The project stood out for its significant reduction in raw material consumption and virgin plastic use, achieved through Triple Bubble coextrusion technology, which eliminated lamination and made the film more than 30% thinner.
This solution improved environmental sustainability, logistics efficiency and carbon footprint, while maintaining high technical and aesthetic performance for food packaging.
The environmental benefits were assessed using the CONAI Eco Tool, a simplified Life Cycle Assessment tool validated by DNV.
