ITP renews BRCGS Packaging Materials – Grade AA+ certification
23 July 2025 In 2025, ITP once again achieved the renewal of the BRCGS Packaging Materials certification with grade AA+, the highest level provided by the standard.
The recognition applies to the production of flexible plastic films-including the printing process-and is further confirmation of the reliability of our processes in terms of quality, sanitation safety and regulatory compliance.
In addition, ITP has joined the voluntary Plastic Pellet Loss Prevention module, reinforcing its environmental commitment to the prevention of microplastic leakage.
A global standard for safe packaging
The certification is based on the BRCGS Global Standard for Packaging Materials, recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
The standard covers safety, quality and legality requirements applicable to food contact materials.
The audit covered the following manufacturing categories:
- Flexible plastics
- Print processes
- Plastic Pellet Loss Prevention (modulo aggiuntivo)
The result obtained-Grade AA+-is only for unannounced audited establishments and reflects a level of excellence in risk management and application of good manufacturing practices.
Plastic pellet loss prevention
ITP was the first company in the world, in 2021, to be awarded BRCGS Packaging Materials certification with Module 10 (Plastic Pellet Loss Prevention) with flying colors, for the effective prevention of the dispersion of plastic residues into the environment.
The renewal of certification with this voluntary module confirms the continuity of the company’s environmental commitment. Measures taken include:
- Containment and collection systems at critical production points
- Personnel training
- Cleaning procedures and emergency management
- Ongoing monitoring of environmental performance
This initiative is consistent with the principles of Operation Clean Sweep® and is part of ITP’s strategy for sustainable and responsible production.
